日本テレビの炭谷宗佑（すみたに・そうすけ）アナウンサー（２６）が、2006年２月にＪＲ横浜駅構内で女子高校生のスカート内を盗撮したとして、神奈川県警戸部署から県迷惑防止条例違反の疑いで書類送検されていたことが１７日、分かった。同アナは「むらむらして興味本位でやった。申し訳ない」と容疑を認めたという。同アナは5月２日、起訴猶予処分となったが、伝えられる犯行からは不自然な処分ともいえ、その詳細がまったくわからない。
日本テレビ広報部は、「プライバシーの問題であるため一切回答しない」と発表するのみで謎は深まるばかりだが、その一方で逮捕も起訴もされていないある犯罪容疑者を実名で詳細に報道しており、「犯罪者のプライバシーを守るため、一切回答しない」という広報部の発言は完全な出鱈目で、ただの隠蔽に過ぎない。日本テレビは自らの変態犯罪行為の説明責任を果たしておらず、こうした初歩的な矛盾する発信をしておきながらその回答を一切行わないなど、報道機関たる資格はもはやないといえるが、その隠蔽に徹する姿勢は常軌を逸しており、今回報道された以上の闇が、炭谷の背景にあると類推される。
炭谷宗佑の父親は、銀行から出向した大和証券の顧問であり、免許制であり、本来強く公平性が要請される日本テレビに正当な手段で職を得たのではない事は歴然としているが、今回も大和証券や三井住友銀行なども関わるアングラ社会の闇に関わる事件の一端であり、それがために強烈な圧力がかかっているのかもしれない。
